Trapped and Escape.

Ever heard of a fairy tale where a beautiful fairy is kidnapped by an evil magician and looses her powers? I have never believed in such a fiction until one day when I realized and found myself in a similar situation. You must be wondering what am I trying to say. So let me tell you a story.. my story.. Lets go back in time, some 3-4 years back when I use to be this young innocent 20+ guy from a small city called Bhopal. For the sake of the story, let me rename myself as "Chandu".

Life in Bhopal was so simple and slow, calm and quite. Chandu was so contended with his life. He was in his final semester of Engineering. Chandu was glad and eager to add Er. before his name. How kool would it sound "Er. Chandu". This thought itself was sufficient enough to keep him motivated and there was nothing to worry about in life, except for exams. It was a month of fun Chandu's college was organising an inter college state level cultural competitions. Chandu and his friends Robo, Mamu, Kammo etc. were amongst the few very enthusiastic about the event and they took part in as many activities as they can. Dance, Singing, Skit, painting, writing... you name it... Chandu managed to get some prizes and was on top of the world. I wonder if winning a cricket world cup or an Oscar feels any same or different!

Not only the college time masti; Mr. Chandu had lots of friends outside the collage as well. Every day after the classes, Chandu use to go to the famous and beautiful Upper lake (bada talaab) of Bhopal for an evening bath cum swimming followed by a brief eye candy session at some hot spots besides the lake. Then coming back home, sometimes as late as 11pm, he always enjoyed fresh chapatis and homemade food mixed with tons of mama's love. I now wonder how Chandu use to do so much in a day!! and well.. at night, after dinner, he use to sit alone in open air flowing through the neighbourhood trees and TV antennas then pen down his feelings. Chandu felt so lucky. Everyone loved Chandu. Friends, Family, Teachers..... Happy days!!!!

Then came the Evil powers.. Horror, thriller, mystery!!! Poor Chandu never realised that he is getting trapped and is destined to loose all of his powers and charm. let me give you a glimpse of Chandu's life now.

Living in one of the finest cities of the world called Singapore, Chandu gets up early worrying that going to his office, he might not be able to get a seat in the train. He works like a donkey from 8 to 6 then catch the same train back home. He reaches around 8, then dinner followed by online chats. Then he goes to bed, regretting everything that went wrong that day. Why this change? What went wrong? What is it that has changed Chandu's life so such degrees. Yes, The evil forces.. But are we all not the same? It sounds a bit like every one's story right? Everyone of us is trapped by the evil forces and we all are loosing our powers.

But what were the evil forces that has changed Chandu's life and took away all his powers, strengths and charm.

  • Is it the highly demanding world that expects us to work like a slave and treats us like non humans?
  • Is it our own greed and will to earn more money and power when actually we end up earning some money and loosing all the powers?
  • Is it the added responsibilities that leaves us with no time to practice our powers and strengths?
  • Is it the ever increasing distance in a so called contracting world that drifts us away from the sources of our powers? (Friends, family, places and things we love)
  • Is it those amongs your friends, the diplomatic people claiming to be friends but not warning us when they actually know that what we are doing is not good?
  • Is it the false sense of freedom and independence that makes the things hazy when actually we are acting and working like slaves and has no time for our self.
  • Is it our inability to laugh at our self because we have an illusion that we are capable, well placed, well settled when actually we can pity at our self.
  • Is it because the place where we are now at and we cannot connect to? Because we still are the same kid from the same old town and can still easily connect to every stone and tree there.

Coming to the conclusion, Its never to late to regain our powers, to revitalize our spirit, and to free our self from the evil powers. All we need is the will to do so and to understand what is happening to us. I do not intend to write the solutions to the above stated problems, the reason is simple. we all are different and everyone of us has to find our own way. All I want to say is

"Follow your heart, but let the brain decide the best possible way to do so."

[P.S. Thanks for reading the post. I wish you a happy life free from all evil forces :) ]

  2. On a little contemplation, I believe we are on a voyage like Sindbad the sailor. Exploring new lands, taking risks. Sometimes gaining power, and sometimes falling in traps. It's a journey in the outside world to find our place, and a journey within to find ourselves.

    Bon Voyage!
